International Year of Cooperatives 2012
The United Nations has declared 2012 the International Year of Cooperatives, giving enterprises such as credit unions an opportunity to highlight the fantastic contribution cooperatives have had worldwide in reducing poverty, creating jobs and promoting social integration.

The logo conveys the idea that, as member-owned, democratically controlled businesses, cooperatives exist to meet the common economic, social and cultural aspirations of their members.

As cooperatively owned and democratically controlled financial institutions, credit unions are proud to support the International Year of Cooperatives, and hope to increase public awareness about the movement's contributions to socio-economic development, promote membership growth and encourage the adoption of policies and legislation that promote long-term growth and stability.
